Generative AI: The Case for Disclosure

It’s time to make generative AI disclosure standard practice. If that disclosure causes us discomfort, that is a signal that our values and actions may not be aligned. I argue that every faculty and staff member should adopt clear, consistent disclosure — not just when using AI, but as a standing commitment to transparency.

Course Showcase – ENG 2513: Disability Rhetoric

In ENG 2513: Disability Rhetoric, Dr. Elizabeth Kleinfeld partnered with CTLD to design a student-centered asynchronous course that fosters reflection, collaboration, and equity. The course features metacognitive check-ins, redesigned discussions for peer interaction, and a contract grading system that emphasizes growth through revision. This showcase highlights how thoughtful design and inclusive teaching practices can transform the online learning experience.

New Guide for Accessible Canva Flyers

Canva is a popular tool for creating flyers, and with some mindful design choices coupled with accessibility work on exported PDFs using Adobe Acrobat, flyer creators can create accessible flyers for both print and digital distribution. Canva has implemented accessibility features such as text structure (headings) and the ability to add alt-text, leaving digital flyers with less remediation in Acrobat than previously.
