Program Eligibility

Thank you for your interest in applying to the TRIO SSS program at MSU Denver. The application for the fall 2021 semester will open on August 23, 2021 at 8:00am. To apply to the TRIO program once the application is open on August 23rd at 8:00am, please click here to access the online application.

To participate, students must:

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • Have a need for academic support
  • Must currently be a degree seeking MSU Denver student

 

In addition, students must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Be a first-generation college student (neither parent has completed a four-year college degree)
  • Meet federal low-income guidelines
  • Have a documented disability

TRIO SSS is federally funded to serve 200 students annually

Expectations of Participants

Requirements each semester

Once a student is accepted to participate in the TRIO SSS program, the participant is expected to attend a program orientation and fulfill the following participation requirements each semester:

  • Meet with an SSS professional advisor at least 2 times per semester.
  • Meet with an SSS peer mentor/tutor at least 1 time per semester.
  • Attend at least 1 SSS workshop per semester.
  • Complete 1 elective
  • Complete 1 meeting or event with the C2Hub (Career Services)
  • Complete at least 1 financial literacy session per semester
