Accessibility is not an all or nothing concept. In fact, accessibility professionals refer to the work being a journey or a moving target. Even if you are just starting your accessibility journey, small changes can have surprisingly large impacts. Sometimes choosing a starting point is the hardest part. That’s why the Instructional Accessibility Group developed The 5-3-1 Goals. Intended to help faculty choose more attainable accessibility goals, the 5-3-1 Goals are divided into three levels according to anticipated workload: short-term, mid-term, and long term. Start your accessibility journey by choosing and completing 5 short-term, 3 mid-term, and 1 long-term goal.
