Whether you are a new or prospective student, an existing student, or you need to meet with a School of Education course instructor, please use the following form to request an advising appointment.

Hello School of Education Students,

3/16/20 Update: As you may have heard, in light of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and out of an abundance of caution, the university is limiting all on-campus visits to critical university/campus personnel only.  This means that all courses, advising, and other support for students will be delivered remotely until further notice.

We will offer all our regular advising services to students remotely. All who schedule an advising appointment will receive from their advisor a link to join a Microsoft Teams meeting using a computer or mobile device (recommended), as well as a phone number and access code to join a meeting via telephone.

For those who have been using Navigate to schedule your advising appointments without the help of our offices, please note that we have disabled that option for the time being, and all advising appointment requests must come through our offices via one of the following options:

  • Visit and submit an advising appointment request (recommended)
  • Call our office at (303) 615-1555 (please note, we will not be answering this number and you will have to leave a message; contacting us online may ensure a quicker response)

Please note that all official updates from MSU Denver and the School of Education will be sent to your MSU Denver student email. The University has also created a website to keep you informed: If you were not able to attend the recent town hall, you can listen to the recording here: Video

This is a stressful time and please know that there are resources available at the university including the Counseling Center and Health Center on the Auraria Campus.

Thank you,

School of Education Student Services

If you have applied to the School of Education, and you have already seen one of our Professional Advisors above, you are ready to begin meeting with a School of Education Faculty Advisor.

Remember, you should schedule an appointment with a SOE faculty advisor at least once every spring and fall semester!

If you are a Secondary or K-12 content area licensure student, you should meet with the appropriate advisors in your content area department(s) regularly, in addition to your School of Education advisor.  Make sure that you are seeing the designated advisors in each department for the most accurate and thorough advising.

Secondary and K-12 Education post-baccalaureate students - the advisors on the list below are your content area experts who will review your previous degree for alignment with our content course requirements.

Click the following link for a list of content-area advisors.  Please be sure to contact these departments or advisors to determine advising schedules or walk-in hours.

Are you bringing a friend or family member/parent with you to your advising appointment? If so, your advisor may ask you to fill out and submit FERPA Form.  Visit the MSU Denver FERPA page for a link to the form.
