Biography
I’m thrilled to join MSU Denver’s Department of Social Work and support the development and growth of a community of social-justice-oriented thinkers, leaders, and healers. I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated with an associate’s degree before earning my Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology. I moved to Denver soon after and got my professional start in student services and academic advising at the University of Denver. While earning my Master’s Degree in international and intercultural communication, I spent over two years researching access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) for folks experiencing homelessness in Denver. I remain deeply passionate about this cause and continue to support unsheltered communities locally.
I’ve worked across several sectors since stepping away from student services, but I’ve found my true calling working with students as they grow into critical changemakers in our communities. I’m excited to partner with MSW students as they navigate both the triumphs and challenges of graduate study.
In my free time, I enjoy solving crossword puzzles at local coffee shops, reading in the park, and listening to podcasts.
