Career Readiness and Planning

When the C2 Hub speaks of career planning, we refer to our Career Planning Strategy. We utilize a career planning strategy that is based on the key elements of career development and reminds students that this is a process.  This strategy is embedded into our operations, programs and services. There are three elements included in the strategy that are included in the Career Planning Strategy document.

Graduate Application Success Program (GrASP)

The Center for Multicultural Engagement and Inclusion (CMEI) and C2 Hub’s Graduate School Pathways Program have collaborated to provide financial assistance to MSU Denver students who are pursuing graduate school. Our goal is to remove obstacles that could prevent students from completing graduate program applications. Through these efforts, we aim to increase representation of students from low-income backgrounds, first generation college attendants, and students of color who submit graduate applications, are admitted to graduate programs, and complete graduate degrees.

This resource prioritizes low-income students, first-generation students, and students of color, but is open to all students interested in attending graduate school.

Career Trek Job Shadowing

Career Trek provides students with the opportunity to participate in a half-day job shadowing experience to gain behind-the-scenes knowledge about their industry of interest.

The Classroom to Career Hub (C2 Hub) at Metropolitan State University of Denver is committed to upholding the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We recognize that not every student has equal access to career or professional development opportunities due to a variety of systemic inequities. We at the C2 Hub will work to support you with the knowledge, skills, and resources to effectively navigate the professional realm and ensure that you accomplish your career goals regardless of your background or identities.

The resources below are intended to assist with your career and professional development needs. We invite you to share other resources that have helped you in your career journey. If there’s a resource you don’t see listed, but would like to see included, please share it through our resource submission form.

In addition to engaging with these resources, we encourage you to connect with our Career Development and Readiness Team who offer in-person and virtual drop-in hours, individual career counseling/advising appointments, and a range of other resources to support you no matter what stage you’re in during your career.
