Laura Shipman, LCSW, CAS

Biography

Laura Shipman has been an affiliate instructor within the Social Work Department for Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado for approximately 18 years. Laura enjoys supporting students in their academic endeavors. She was recognized as Affiliate Faculty Member of the Year in 2014. Laura has over thirty years of experience working with at risk youth and their families, with a minimum of twenty years working with adolescent female offenders. Over the course of her career, she has had the opportunity to work in behavioral health facilities, alternative school programs, day treatment centers, secure residential facilities and community programs. She consults nationally with corporations, schools and governmental agencies. She has provided consultation services in the areas of leadership development, program development and measures of accountability.
