Headshot of Adrianna Taylor

Biography

Healing is not simply the absence of trauma—it is the presence of connection, safety, and the freedom to become.

Dr. Adrianna Taylor, DSW, LCSW, BCD, CYT-500, is an Assistant Professor of Social Work, clinician, and scholar committed to advancing healing-centered approaches to trauma, relationships, and social justice. Drawing on her experience as a therapist, disabled Air Force veteran, and educator, her work bridges research, clinical practice, and community engagement.

Dr. Taylor’s scholarship explores relational, intergenerational, and structural trauma, with particular attention to the experiences of Black women, Black girls, military-connected communities, and historically excluded populations. She is passionate about preparing the next generation of social workers to think critically, practice courageously, and curate spaces where individuals and communities can heal, thrive, and belong.

Her pedagogical philosophy is represented by this quote:
“The classroom remains the most radical space of possibility in the academy.” -bell hooks
