None of us exist in a vacuum outside of the world we live in, and many people find themselves experiencing a variety of emotions and experiences as the events of the world impact our humanity. For many, these experiences can be amplified when the current sociopolitical events that are occurring directly relate to their cultural identities and lived experience, while others without these experiences may still find themselves particularly impacted by the sociopolitical environment. This workshop is intended to provide a space to facilitate increased self-awareness into how sociopolitical environments influence our mental wellbeing, reflect on how cultural identities influence these experiences in order to facilitate empowerment, build community, and identify strategies to maintain both individual and community wellness.

Many people have fantasized about, or actually begun to explore, relationships that step outside traditional one-on-one monogamy. Perhaps you dream about maintaining several long-term sexual and intimate relationships. Maybe your dream is a number of close friendships that may or may not include sex. Maybe the idea of genital sex holds not much interest for you, but you still want to form a warm, loving partnership… or two, or three. Maybe you want monogamy, but one defined by you and your partner, rather than the restrictions of the greater culture. Maybe you want to be part of a couple that occasionally shares a bed with others but reserves romantic love for just the two of you. All of these, and many more, are part of the world of ethical non-monogamy. If you have ever had thoughts or questions about this world, come to this workshop to hear about how to explore this world and get some of your questions answered.

Have you ever wondered what your dreams mean? Do you have the same dream repeatedly and wonder why? Do you wake up from a dream and think, “That was crazy!”? People have been assigning meaning to dreams as long as we have been having dreams. They can be vivid, powerful, or just plain weird. But they almost always provide a window into our subconscious. Come to this workshop and take a look through that window.
When: Tuesday, April 16th, 2024
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Facilitator: Michael Malmon, Ph.D., Staff Psychologist

The first video teaches the basic relaxation technique and lasts approximately 10 minutes. This video is educational in nature and does not replace consultation with a mental health professional.
