This appointment type is for students on Academic Probation or Academic Notice (cumulative GPA below 2.0). If you’re unsure about your standing, please refer to the Student Intervention Services website.

This appointment type is for students needing to withdraw from courses due to extenuating circumstances.

Fresh Start appointments are for students who haven’t attended MSU Denver for at least three consecutive calendar years and wish to exclude one or more semesters from their academic record.

Select “Schedule an Appointment”

• What type of appointment you would like to schedule? Select “Academic Advising”

• Select the service that best fits your needs. Services are the reasons you want to see an advisor – what you’re coming in for.

• Pick a Date

• Pick an appointment type – virtual, in-person, or phone

• Select the location and staff
  • You should only have the option to choose the location that houses your major. If you are wanting to learn about a different major or minor, you will choose the location where that major or minor is housed. If you don’t see an option to choose that location, go back to the “service category” and be sure to choose “selecting a major, minor, concentration, or certificate”
  • If you haven’t chosen a major, select “undeclared/exploratory”

• Select a date to see available times
  • If the date you select does not show any times, it means the advisor does not have availability for that date and you need to choose a different date

• Select a date and time
  • Select the time that works for you (you’ll have a chance to review the appointment details and leave comments for the advisor before the appointment is confirmed)
  • Select the type of reminders you’d like to receive for the appointment

• Select “Confirm Appointment” at the bottom of the screen

You may cancel or reschedule your appointment. Please let someone know if you will not be able to make a scheduled and confirmed appointment so we can work with you to get you rescheduled.

Faculty advisors may have other options for scheduling. You may schedule with them by calling a department front desk or emailing them directly.

Check with your department for information about other options, including virtual or in-person drop-in advising times.

Professional academic advisors and faculty advisors are available for the different types of appointments. However, advising formats vary by advisor availability. We suggest to check with your advisor on offered advising formats before scheduling an appointment or students will be able to view available advising formats when they schedule an appointment in SSC.

• Virtual Advising. Advisors will connect with students online for video call appointments (either through Microsoft Teams or Zoom).
• Phone Advising. Advisors call students for appointments over the phone.
• In-Person Advising. Advisors meet with students on-campus, face-to-face. In-person advising is available by appointment or during drop-in times only.

Advisors offer virtual, phone or in-person advising options. However, not all advisors offer all advising formats.

Students should schedule an appointment or arrive during your advisors listed drop-in hours. Some advisors may have in-person or virtual drop-in hours so we suggest students confirm advisor drop-in hours before coming to campus.

When scheduling your appointment, please select the advising format that works best for you. If you do not see your preferred advising format listed, use the notes section to indicate which option works best for you and your advisor will do their best to accommodate all your advising needs.
