We are proud to announce that Dr. Allison Cotton, in collaboration with esteemed authors Paul Leighton, Gregg Barak, Carrie L. Buist, and K. Sebastian Leon, has contributed to the groundbreaking book Class, Race, Gender, and Crime: The Social Realities of Justice in America. This compelling new work explores the intersections of class, race, gender, and crime within the context of the American justice system. Through interdisciplinary research and critical analysis, the book delves into the lived experiences of marginalized groups and challenges the broader societal and institutional structures that shape justice. The authors have brought together diverse perspectives from sociology, criminology, and social justice studies to offer fresh insights into the complexities of crime and punishment. It is an essential read for anyone interested in understanding the systemic inequalities that persist in the criminal justice system. New to this Edition:
Dr. Cotton is the author of Effigy: Images of Capital Defendants (2008); Race, Class, Gender & Crime: The Social Realities of Justice in America 5th edition (2018); and Femicide and Female Violence: Intersectional Selections (2021).
