The President’s Welcome Back event takes place each Fall Semester, offering a warm and engaging reception for Faculty, Staff and Student Employees as all embark on another academic year. This occasion features an address from University President, Janine Davidson, Ph.D., along with contributions from additional guests who share insights on the current state of the University as it embarks on another academic year and the collective journey ahead.
Fall 2025 Welcome Back on Thursday, Aug. 28
President Davidson’s 2025 Welcome Back was held on Thursday, Aug. 28., in the King Center Concert Hall on the Auraria Campus.
The MSU Denver Foundation presented the 2025 Foundation Service Award to:
- Carolyn Wollard – Former vice president of Institutional Advancement.
- Larry Strutton – Former chair of the then-Metropolitan State College of Denver Foundation Board.
- Sheila Kaplan, Ph.D. – Former president of then-Metropolitan State College of Denver.
- Gay Cook – Served as Vice President of Executive Operations and Planning at Metropolitan State College of Denver and as a member of the president’s senior staff and cabinet.
