Journalism and Media Production internships provides students with hands-on experience at a mass media outlet or public relations setting where students are able to use the skills learned in the classroom in a supervised, professional environment.
Students work as writers, reporters, editors, public relations practitioners, convergent media specialists, and photojournalists at newspapers, magazines, agencies, corporations, nonprofit entities, and other media outlets.
Students who wish to enroll in JMP 3980 – Internship in Journalism and Media Production must satisfy the following requirements:
Students may enroll for 3 credits of internship credit. This course may be repeated for a total of fifteen (15) credits. The following formula is used to determine how much time the student must devote to the internship experience:
1 credit hour = 50 hours of intern work
Students who wish to enroll in JMP 4760 – Advanced Internship in Journalism and Media Production must satisfy the following requirements:
Students may enroll for 1-12 credits of internship credit. The following formula is used to determine how much time the student must devote to the internship experience:
