Journalism and Media Production majors or minors, who qualify for work study through the Financial Aid office, can apply for a work study positions available in the department.

Media Studio Technician

The Media Student Technician will be tasked with helping operate and maintain the studios, equipment room, and check-in/out gear to students. In addition, they will be integral to students, faculty, and staff using the space to learn, practice, and create media.

A successful candidate must:

  • Have prior experience working in a studio environment, operating cameras, video switchers, lighting, audio boards, and microphones
  • Have knowledge about the studio workflow
  • Successfully completed the JMP 3445 TV Production class or equivalent
  • Able to follow directions, work alone, or as part of a group
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • JMP major or minor
  • Two years of TV studio experience
  • Able to perform minor equipment repairs
  • Understanding how to trace video and audio signals between the different elements of the production chain
  • Current or former Met TV member
  • MSU Denver student with a current work-study award
