About

The Dynamic Languaging Collaborative is an interdisciplinary group of researchers, educators, students, and community members focused on connecting theory and practice to codesign linguistically sustaining learning environments across PreK-16 educational settings. Linguistically sustaining learning environments foster and elevate students’ full repertoire of language and multi-modal practices as critical dignity-conferring resources that belong permanently across classroom learning and assessment. This happens through deliberately making space for translanguaging and supporting the development of critical language awareness across learning ecosystems. The Collaborative conducts research, designs educational resources, and leads professional learning for PreK-16 educators.

How can you support this collaborative?

  • Creating Free Resources for Teachers: Your donation funds the design of open-access educational tools—such as instructional videos, curricular customization resources and multimodal/multilingual digital notebooks—that help PreK-16 science teachers build linguistically sustaining classrooms.
  • Funding Professional Development: Contributions directly support teacher learning opportunities and professional learning communities that equip PreK-16 educators with the skills to effectively teach and support multilingual learners in science.
  • Advancing Equity-Driven Research: Gifts empower faculty and graduate students to conduct vital field research on social justice and critical language awareness across science learning ecosystems.
