Alyssa Williams - CASE Fellow

I’m a proud MSU Denver alum with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Class of 2023), and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering Management at the University of Colorado Boulder.

I serve as a staff member in the Computer Science Department at MSU Denver, where I work as the Project Manager for the Sustainability Hub. This is a National Science Foundation funded project focused on democratizing access to sustainability and well-being data across Colorado. I coordinate interdisciplinary teams of students, faculty, and community partners to develop a user-centered platform that supports evidence-based decision making for communities, researchers, and policymakers. My work spans applied research and technology development in areas such as geospatial data, artificial intelligence, and user experience design.

In my role, I value creating meaningful opportunities for students to engage with applied research, grow their technical skills, and contribute to projects that have real impact. I believe students thrive when they can see the relevance of their work beyond the classroom and participate in collaborative, hands-on learning environments that reflect the communities we serve.

As a CASE Fellow with the Center for Advanced STEM Education, I am honored to support programs that connect student learning with real-world impact. I am committed to creating systems that help students and communities engage meaningfully with STEM fields and to ensuring that the technical tools we build reflect the real needs of those they are designed to serve.
