The Student Care Center is committed to providing education and training to staff, faculty, and students organization about the services offered through our office, as well as how to best support student needs.
To request a presentation or training, please submit a request form.
We ask that requests are made at least 2 weeks in advance.
If you have a presentation or training request that is not listed below, we may review and assess if that is something we can accommodate. For these requests, we ask that they are made 3 weeks in advance.

An overview presentation for staff and faculty about the functions of the Student Care Center. Includes information on resources available through case management, when to refer a student and how to refer a student.

A presentation for students, staff, and faculty specifically about the supports provided by the Student Care Center that address basic needs concerns and housing needs. Includes information on accessing public benefits and what students may be eligible for.

A presentation with training activities for staff and faculty about how to support a student who may be in crisis or have urgent needs. Addresses how to respond to different situations, where to connect students for further appropriate support, de-escalation, as well as personal self-care.

Training for staff and faculty on how to use the Red Folder resource created by the Student Care Center and Dean of Students Office. Discusses how to best connect students to the appropriate supports, and offers information about what resources are available to meet student needs on campus.

This professional development opportunity is intended to train faculty and staff to Recognize, Respond to and Refer students that are in distress or would otherwise benefit from an appropriate referral to one of the University-sponsored agencies who can assist students in addressing their needs. Presented in partnership by the Student Care Center, Health Center at Auraria, and MSU Denver Counseling Center.

A scenario-based training that builds on learning from Roadrunner 3R: Basic. Provides the opportunity to consult with representatives from the Counseling Center, Student Care Center and Health Center at Auraria about previous or current situations and how best to apply early intervention skills when students of concern are identified.
