Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
From the Navy to corporate leadership to entrepreneurship, Jameer Fitch has built a career defined by service, resilience, and creating opportunities for others. A 2020 graduate of MSU Denver’s Individualized Degree Program (IDP) in Legal Analytics & Organizational Leadership and a proud MBA alum, Jameer continues to credit the University with setting the foundation for his success.
Finding His Path at MSU Denver
Jameer’s journey to MSU Denver wasn’t straightforward. After attending several institutions while working to finish his degree, it was his best friend and fellow Roadrunner alum, Leon Duran, who encouraged him to revisit the University. That visit led him to the IDP program—an opportunity to combine his interests in business, law, leadership, and political science.
“That moment changed everything for me,” Jameer recalls. “The program gave me a path forward that aligned with my passions and prepared me to make a real impact.”
He credits much of his growth to Dr. Elizabeth McVicker, J.D., Ph.D., who mentored him throughout his time at MSU Denver. Her guidance helped him prepare for law school, secure recommendations for his Navy commission, and ultimately gain the confidence to pursue ambitious goals.
Service and Leadership
Today, Jameer serves as a Supply Corps Officer in the U.S. Navy, where he provides logistical and financial support to ensure mission readiness. He also leads in his civilian career as a Senior Physical Security Specialist at Comcast, overseeing large-scale projects that protect people, property, and technology.
For Jameer, leadership is about impact:
“It’s not just about operations, logistics, or technology. It’s about mentoring others, helping them see their potential, and opening doors for people who might otherwise be overlooked.”
Giving Back to MSU Denver
Even as his career advances, Jameer remains deeply connected to MSU Denver. He serves as Vice President of the Alumni Board of Directors and sits on the MBA Advisory Board, helping shape programs and support future Roadrunners.
“MSU Denver played such a pivotal role in my life, and I want to make sure I’m creating the same opportunities for others,” he says.
Looking Ahead
Jameer has his sights set on law school, while also pursuing entrepreneurship through MOSO Pillow, a veteran-owned pillow and bedding company focused on health, recovery, and better rest.
No matter the path, his guiding principle remains the same:
“Small steps lead to great distances. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but every effort builds momentum that will carry you farther than you think.”
A Roadrunner’s Message
Jameer’s story is one of persistence, faith, and resilience—proof that the journey doesn’t need to be perfect to be powerful.
“I was told ‘no’ many times, both in the Navy and in life, but I refused to let setbacks define me. My hope is that others see my journey and realize their story matters too. Keep showing up. Small steps really do lead to great distances.”
