Welcome to the Department of Psychological Sciences

Clinical & Counseling Club

Did you know that we are one of the largest departments at MSU Denver? We have over 1200 students majoring or minoring in Psychology or Human Development and Family Studies, where we strive to connect classroom learning with applied, real-word experiences.

Students will learn foundational knowledge in a range of courses and sub-disciplines including clinical, developmental, social and cognitive psychology. Whether in-person, online or utilizing a combination of learning formats, our faculty and staff work closely with every student to help them reach their unique career goals. As a STEM discipline, the skills you will develop within our program are in high demand in any profession!

In addition to our regular course offerings, our students can join a variety of departmental clubs, including the Psi Chi International Honor Society, Research Club, and the Clinical & Counseling Club. Students can also work with individual faculty mentors to conduct and present their own original research or serve as teaching assistants within the classroom. We also encourage students to get involved within their community by completing internships at local organizations.

We look forward to fostering and supporting you on your career journey ahead.

Lisa Badanes, Ph.D.

Professor, Department Chair
