Who is my academic advisor and how can they help me?
Academic advisors provide guidance to students on choosing majors, minors, concentrations and other academic programs. They help connect academic choices to career planning, assist students in understanding academic policies/procedures and refer students to university resources.
How do I make an appointment with an advisor?
You can use the Guide App, go to your Student Hub and select the “Get Advising” button or schedule an advising appointment.
What if I am switching majors? Who is my academic advisor?
If you are switching majors, go to the academic advisor for the major you want to switch to, not your current advisor. You will need to use the Advising website or call the department rather than use the Guide App or Get Advising button.
**For additional advising questions and answers, view the Advising FAQ.
When I try to register, it says I have holds on my account. How can I clear them?
Visit the Registrar website on holds and follow the instructions for clearing your hold.
How do I know which credits from my previous institution will count?
Use the NEW Transfer Toolbox to find out which credits will transfer, how those credits will apply to your MSU Denver degree and what steps you need to complete and when. Note that this portal is an unofficial evaluation, so you will still need to send in your official transcripts.
