Shaping meaningful change rarely begins with a plan; It begins with an idea and people willing to believe in it together.
We are Emmy Jacobson and Chris Felton. We found one another two and a half years ago during a season of complex life challenges and quickly recognized something rare in what we were building: a partnership grounded in authenticity, resilience, and shared purpose. Across careers that span aviation, teaching, public safety, healthcare, and modern technology, we have each seen how ideas, when supported by community, can transform lives. As we step into our next chapter together as life partners, we would be honored to invite you to share in what that idea has grown into.
When we considered how we wanted to define our life partnership, the ethos of Metropolitan State University of Denver resonated deeply with us: Changemakers. Both alumni from the Class of 2000, and lifelong members of the south metro Denver community, MSU Denver holds a place close to our hearts. The university’s impact extends far beyond its campus. MSU has strengthened Colorado’s workforce, expanded education access for first-generation students, and fosters an inclusive environment where people are empowered to become their best selves in service of others.
In the spirit of community, change-making, and creating impact that endures, we invite you to celebrate our life partnership on May 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Adirondacks inside the Tivoli Building on the MSU Denver campus.
This evening is intentionally not about us – it is about what becomes possible when passion is paid forward. Rather than gifts, this celebration is being hosted as a creative fundraiser in support of the MSU Denver Foundation, in partnership with the Alumni community that continues to steward opportunity, access, and transformation for future generations. Any financial support you choose to offer is deeply appreciated, but never expected. Your presence, your energy, and your willingness to engage in a night of connection, dancing, and shared purpose matter most to us.
More than anything, we hope this gathering fuels imagination – not just for this evening, but for what creative, outcome-driven support of MSU Denver might look like moving forward. Change does not live in a single moment; it carries on through people who believe in investing where it matters.
