Welcome to Student Employment!

This portal was developed to help guide current & potential students through the Student Employment Program.

Following the Sept. 8 announcement by President Janine Davidson, Ph.D.

Student Employment is increasing the hourly minimum wage for student employees to $12.85.

The increase will be applied to all hours worked beginning Sept. 1 to current. Individual departments are responsible for covering the wage increase. Student employees will see this increase reflected on their Oct. 30 paycheck for SM 20. The Student Employment Team, in conjunction with ITS and Payroll, is making these changes in the system. Announcing Changes to the Student Employment Program

We have some exciting things happening in the HR Student Employment Program.

As of June 1, 2020, we are no longer requiring attendance at a Student Employment New Hire Orientation (SE-NHO) for student employees. The information discussed in SE-NHO can now be accessed on the Student Employment Portal. For quick reference we have created short videos on timesheets and key points in the Student Employee Handbook. In addition, we have created a quiz for the students to complete after watching the videos. Check out the "Getting Started" section for more information.

The Student Employment Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver is meant to provide students paid jobs to help alleviate a portion of their educational expenses. In addition, student employees will garner professional experience and develop leadership skills. By participating in the program, students contribute to the success of the institution and are considered valuable employees of MSU Denver.

How do you find a job?

Start out with the Student Employment Opportunities section.  This section outlines the different employment opportunities available to students - work-study, student hourly, internships, and other opportunities for work-study jobs outside of MSU Denver at an authorized agency (CU Denver, Community College of Denver and more).

After you get a job, what are the next steps?

Getting Started will guide you through completing the correct employment packet, registering for the background check, how to submit your paperwork including supporting documents and provide you the onboarding videos.
