This fund provides scholarships for students entering MSU Denver’s Dietetic Internship Program in honor of long-time, dedicated Department of Nutrition faculty members, Dr. Bruce Rengers and Dr. Cynthia Dormer.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation offers scholarships to Academy members at all levels of study. To be considered for Academy Foundation scholarships, you must complete the Academy Foundation scholarship application as directed on the Academy Foundation scholarship website.

It is undeniable that the cost of entering the field of dietetics is a HUGE barrier to the diversity of the nutrition profession. This barrier is one that Diversify Dietetics have had a goal to address and now they are thrilled to launch the Diversify Dietetics Scholarships and Grants.
The Colorado Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI) is pleased to sponsor three scholarships this year! $2000, $1500 and $1000! These scholarships are available to qualified female students who will be attending and are enrolled an applicable program in the Fall, 2025. Applicants must have a focus in a food-related industry (such as culinary, food science, dietetics, nutrition, beverage and fermentation, hospitality and restaurant management, animal science, agriculture, or family and consumer sciences) at a trade school, technical school, college, or university.

The POHA-Denver grant, received in 2019 and housed in the Department of Nutrition, aimed to increase diversity in the field of nutrition and dietetics. The main objective of the grant was to provide marginalized students the opportunity to continue to post baccalaureate programs after obtaining their bachelor’s degree.
Over the course of five years, POHA has hosted a Nutrition Diversity Conference (NDC) to educate nutrition professionals and students on the importance of health equity and ways to advance diversity in the field of nutrition and academia. The POHA-Denver team is excited to announce the proceeds raised from NDC will be used to establish the Department of Nutrition Student Emergency Fund.
The emergency fund will be an emergency stipend for MSU Denver nutrition and dietetic undergraduate and graduate students who are going through an unprecedented time in their life that may cause the student to stop or pause their educational goals. Funding is limited each semester and applications will be reviewed as funds last.

The Department of Nutrition is looking for 2 graduate students to apply for Summer Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) awards. The GRA are awarded to selected graduate students in return for their engagement with faculty-guided research or scholarship, and the assistantship will be provided in the form of tuition support/loan reduction to the student’s account via the Financial Aid Office.
The graduate research assistantship does not cover student fees. Student must be nominated by a faculty member (please reach out if you are interested to be nominated) and must be enrolled in minimum of 3, and maximum of 6 credits. There may not be any MSND/MSN course available to take over summer, so consider taking 3-6 credits of Independent Study to be eligible for this award.
