Contact UsEvery March, the Center for Multicultural Engagement and Inclusion (CMEI) and the Auraria Phoenix Center commemorates Women’s History Month. What began simply as a Women’s History Week in the United States has evolved into an entire month full of celebration, education, and commemoration of women who come before us. We celebrate this month with all who identify as women including, but not limited to women of color, trans-women, queer women, and all other marginalized groups of women. We hope to create co-curricular programing with our partners to highlight and amplify the voices of women who are continuing to create change as well as champion for women on the Auraria campus. On March 8th, we also recognize International Women’s Day. We want to acknowledge the oppression of trans, non-binary, gender-confirming, and women-identified individuals with emphasis on uplifting voices from the respective community.
This year’s theme of Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations honors women in every community have devoted their lives and talents to inspiring generations for the betterment of our future women.

This kickoff is a space to reflect on the strength of women past and present, share knowledge, and leave with practical tools and information to help keep yourself and others safe. All are welcome as we begin the month by centering care, empowerment, and collective support.

Join us for a meaningful service experience as we come together to create pampering kits in support of the Latina Safe House. This session is an opportunity to give back while showing care and solidarity with survivors by assembling kits filled with comforting and essential self-care items. Through this collective act of kindness, we aim to uplift, support healing, and remind recipients that they are valued, seen, and not alone. All are welcome to participate as we turn compassion into action and make a positive impact in our community.
