API Program

The Asian Pacific Islander (API) Program is a part of the Center for Multicultural Engagement and Inclusion (CMEI) branch which oversees the various programs offered by the university. These programs approach and build a community through equitable experiences for all students on campus.

Vision

Empowering API Students to Lead and Thrive

We envision a campus where Asian Pacific Islander (API) students and communities are seen, supported, celebrated, and empowered to lead with confidence and thrive.

We strive to create a culture of inclusion that not only acknowledges the diverse histories and identities of API students, but also uplifts their voices as essential to the fabric of our university. Through intentional community building and transformative engagement, we aim to cultivate a future where API students feel rooted, resilient, and ready to lead change.

Mission

Cultivate Belonging, Advocacy, and Leadership

The Asian Pacific Islander Program at MSU Denver fosters belonging, leadership, and comprehensive development for API students and communities through culturally responsive programming, community building, and advocacy. We honor the richness of API identities and histories while creating spaces of healing, joy, and resistance in higher education. Centering students as changemakers and storytellers, our work is inclusive of intersecting identities while reflecting our diverse community.
