Leveling
Applicants who do not have either an undergraduate business degree or graduate business degree and have less than eight years of significant business and management experience will be required to successfully complete up to three leveling modules prior to beginning MBA coursework. The modules are completed through the MSU Denver Canvas shell. Admitted students are sent the information for the modules as soon as they are ready for the semester for which the student is admitted.
The three modules are:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Quantitative Math and Statistics
Leveling Courses FAQs
The purpose of the academic leveling course is to help develop your foundational business knowledge so that you will be more successful with your degree program.
The Leveling modules are self-contained. No other resources or materials are necessary to complete the Leveling modules. After completing each required module, students will take a quiz to test their knowledge. A score of 70% or higher indicates a solid base knowledge for taking courses with that content. A score below 70% indicates that students should take advantage of available resources (instructor office hours, LinkedIn Learning, etc.) to ensure success in the courses with that content.
You will receive an email to your MSU Denver email account letting you know that you have been invited to join the MBA Leveling Canvas shell. Accept the invitation and then you can access Canvas through the MSU Denver Student Hub.
