Health Care Management Major Programs
There are two program major offerings within the Health Care Management Program:
1. Health Care Information Systems Major: This degree program will provide students a strong foundation in health care information systems, from understanding the components of information systems, to gaining knowledge and skills critical for this constantly growing field. Graduates with this degree will demonstrate basic skills in computer device networking, telecommunications, information systems security, database administration, clinical information support, and website design.
2. Health Care Management Major: This degree program will provide students a strong understanding of the structure and function of the health care system and health care delivery, along with acquiring knowledge and skills applicable to a variety of health care field positions. Graduates with this degree will consider career paths in finance, human resources, patient care, information systems, supply chain management, and/or CEO.
3. Health Care Professional Services Major: This degree program is designed for professionals on the front lines of health care delivery wishing to earn baccalaureate level training to maintain professional certification in the allied health professions. Allied health professions are involved with the delivery of health or related services pertaining to the identification, evaluation, and prevention of diseases and disorders, dietary and nutrition services, rehabilitation, and health systems management.
By combining courses in health care management with other disciplines, such as marketing, accounting and economics, the program gives students a strong foundation in management as it specifically relates to the health care industry.
