In MSU Denver’s Aging Services Leadership program, you learn from faculty who are deeply involved in health care and aging services in Colorado. They bring experience from long term care administration, aging policy, hospice and palliative care, and community based programs into your online courses.
For Example, professor Amy Dore has more than 18 years of experience teaching health care management and aging services leadership. Her work focuses on aging and long term care, rural health, health disparities and workforce development. She uses real cases and current initiatives to help you understand both the human side of aging and the operational decisions that shape care for older adults, so you leave the program ready to advocate for age friendly practices and lead teams with confidence.
In MSU Denver’s online Aging Services Leadership B.S., you learn how the entire aging services system fits together, from long term care and assisted living to home and community based services, hospice and other supports.
Coursework introduces you to aging services leadership and management, quality and regulatory standards, long term care and senior living operations, ethics, and person centered care. You also explore topics such as grief and loss, family systems, rural health and diversity in aging so you can better understand the experiences of older adults and those who support them.
As you move through the program, you bring these pieces together in a personalized senior experience, where you apply what you have learned in a real aging services setting and reflect on your role as a leader and advocate for older adults.
Assignments, case studies and your senior experience are designed to help you build practical skills for leadership roles in aging services and long term care.
