Annual essay competition established in 1998 to honor Lincoln vet George Watt, a writer and lifelong activist central to the creation of ALBA. Entries must be at between 3,500-12,500 words, in Spanish or English, about any aspect of the Spanish Civil War, the global political or cultural struggles against fascism in 1920s and 1930s, or the lifetime histories and contributions of the international volunteers who fought in support of the Spanish Republic from 1936 to 1938.

AASA’s Educational Administration Scholarships were created in 1949 to provide incentive, honor and financial assistance to outstanding graduate students in school administration who intend to make the school superintendency a career.

Gertrude M. Cox Scholarship for women. Must be a full time student and a U.S. citizen. Women who are admitted to full-time study in a graduate statistical program by July 1 of the award year or entering the early stages of graduate training (MS or Ph.D.) are especially encouraged to apply.

The VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” provides service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. Applicants must be retired, honorably discharged, active duty, or a member of the National Guard or Reserve.

Offers many scholarships/fellowship for the study of safety of drinking water, water supply and treatment. AWWA and its members recognize the importance of investing in students as the future of the water industry.

AAIA offers a scholarships for students that are enrolled with his or her respective Tribe, either federally recognized or non-federally recognized Tribe, from the continental US or Alaska. Be a full time student, minimum 2.5 GPA, attend an accredited institution and be seeking an Associate’s Degree or higher.

Offers an essay contest and fellowship opportunity. For the essay contest students enrolled during the contest year in at least three credit hours of graduate course work at a college or university leading to an advanced degree. Award for contest varies. JASNA’s International Visitor Program (IVP) provides a member the opportunity to work on a creative or scholarly project in Jane Austen’s village of Chawton, England, for up to six weeks in July and August (fellowship).

CHCI’s Graduate Fellowship Program is designed for exceptional emerging Latino leaders who want to immerse themselves in a specific public policy area. This paid, nine-month fellowship will provide you with valuable work experience, access to powerful Latino network, and a chance to showcase your public policy knowledge on Capitol Hill.

Offers numerous summer internships for graduate students to work as copy editors at daily newspapers. Students receive scholarship money after their internship.

Must be a female graduate student in Physical Education, Sports Management, Sports Psychology or Sports Sociology. Must be an American citizen or legal resident, graduate student who will be pursuing a full-time course of study at an accredited postgraduate institution is eligible to apply for the Scholarship.

Must be a current civilian federal or postal employee or family member with three years of federal service or a dependent family member. Applicants who are dependents must be full-time students. Applicants who are federal or postal employees may be part-time students. Must be enrolled in post-graduate program with grade point average of 3.0.

The National Press Club offers a one-year stipend of $5,000 to defray post-graduate tuition costs for graduate students in journalism. Applicants must have applied to or be enrolled in an accredited graduate program in journalism.

Offers dissertation, predoctoral, and postdoctoral fellowships to those committed to a career in teaching and research at the college/university level. Must be a U.S. citizen.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation offers two awards of $5,000 each to support the study of media and representation as it relates to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. Must have knowledge of and commitment to GLBT issues.

Individuals with hemophilia, Von Willebrand disease, and other related factor deficiencies. Applicants must be a full-time graduate student, U.S. citizen, and demonstrate financial need, academic achievement in relation to tested availability and involvement in extracurricular and communities.

Must be full-time graduate student in 2003-2004 academic year with clearly demonstrated interest in the classical liberal/libertarian tradition of individual rights and market economies with an interest in applying the principles of this tradition to a career.

Helps minority students seek advanced degrees in teaching, counseling, and administrative careers. IRT has Intern and Associate programs. The IRT program provides extensive assistance throughout the graduate application process.

For graduate students obtaining a master of arts in American History, Political Science, or a master of arts in teaching or a master of education. Applicants must be committed to teaching American History, American Government, and/or Social Studies full time in grades 7-12.

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African American, Asian Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino or Native American/Alaska Native. Applicant must be a full-time student at a college or university that is accredited by a regional accrediting association, have a minimum of 3.2 GPA and MUST major in a field of study that has an emphasis in public relations, marketing or advertising.

The American Psychological Association’s Division 44 (Society for the Psychological Study of Lesbian and Gay Issues) offers this award to support graduate student research into psychological issues relevant to gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals, groups or communities. Must be a U.S. citizen who has completed a bachelor’s degree by the time they take up the Marshall Scholarship. Apply while a junior or senior. GPA of 3.7 required. Scholarship is for 22 months of study at one of several UK universities.

Fellowships are awarded for graduate study leading to research-based master’s or doctoral degrees in the fields of natural science, social science, mathematics, and engineering supported by the NSF. Applicants must be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the U.S. Each three-year fellowship provides a stipend for 12-month tenures, and a cost-of-education allowance.

Boren Awards are an initiative of the Defense Language and National Security Education Office (DLNSEO).

The David L. Boren Graduate Fellowship enables U.S. graduate students to pursue specialization in area and language study, or to add an important international dimension to their education. Must be a U.S. citizen enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited college or university located in the U.S.

The Kenneth W. Payne Student Prize offered to a graduate student for outstanding work on a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered topic in anthropology. Work completed since September 2000 while enrolled as a student.

The Endowment Fund offers fellowships for women enrolled in a graduate school within the boundary of Founder Region and who are in the last year of their doctoral program. Must be enrolled in a graduate school within Founder Region, (Northern California [including the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano, Sonoma], the state of Hawaii, and the U. S. territories of Guam and the Marianas).
