Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships News

The FAFSA for 2016-2017 is available now. Students are encouraged to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to complete their FAFSA. The IRS Data Retrieval Tool is available to students and parents 2-3 weeks after the IRS has accepted your Federal Income Tax Return electronically (8-11 weeks if the return was filed by mail).

The MSU Denver Scholarship application for the 2016-2017 aid year is AVAILABLE NOW on the Scholarship page. The priority deadline for applications is March 1, 2016. Applications are accepted until November 1, 2016. May 2, 2016 is the MSU Denver institutional scholarship priority deadline; complete your FAFSA and financial aid file by this date.

It is important for students to become familiar with the NSLDS (National Student Loan Data Systems) website at www.nslds.ed.gov to keep track of their federal student aid. This site keeps track of how much a student has received in both Stafford Loans and Federal Pell Grant. See our Debt Management page for more information.

IMPORTANT: Email is the official form of communication at Metropolitan State University of Denver. All financial aid correspondence is sent to students via their MSU Denver Email accounts. Check your school email often.

If you would like to speak to a financial aid counselor, they are on-call from 8AM-4:30PM, Monday-Thursday. Counselors are not available to see students on Friday. Individual counselor schedules can be found by clicking the Counselor On-Call Schedule.
