Supplemental Instruction Mission Statement

MSU Denver’s Supplemental Instruction Program is committed to helping students understand what to learn and how to learn by developing transferable study skills, honing critical thinking skills, becoming more active in their courses and building connection to the MSU Denver campus community.

Our Goals are

  • Helping students become more independent learners.
  • Reducing DFW (D, F, and Withdraw) rates in targeted historically difficult courses.
  • Improving student grades in targeted historically difficult courses.
  • Increasing re-enrollment and persistence of participating students.
  • Creating strong learning communities for our MSU Denver students.
  • Gain problem-solving experience through trial and error.
  • And, ultimately, improving the graduation rates of students at MSU Denver.
