We’re excited you’re joining the Roadrunner community! The Transfer Orientation steps are designed to help you prepare for your first semester, connect with peers, meet your academic advisor, connect with Transfer and Adult Student Success, and learn about other campus resources.

To get started, you’ll complete Pre-Orientation Modules. These modules help you learn information about MSU Denver and information before meeting with an advisor or attending orientation.
What to do:
Sign in to the Orientation system using your MSU Denver credentials.
Complete all Pre-Orientation Modules at your own pace.
Once finished, sign up for an New Student Advising and Registration session.
After your advising session is scheduled, register for your New Student Orientation session.
What to expect:
You will meet with an advisor to review your academic plan.
You’ll register for your classes during this session.
Before you attend, make sure you have:
Submitted all official transcripts (including college, AP/IB, and concurrent/dual enrollment, if applicable).
Completed the Math Placement (if required).
Completed the English Writing Placement Survey.
New Student Orientation is the best way to have a great start at MSU Denver. You have two options to complete this requirement, including:
New Student Orientation Session Schedule (tentative and subject to change)
Check-In: 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM
Welcome Presentation: 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM
Student Groups: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Lunch : 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Campus Connect: 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Starting college is a big transition, and MSU Denver is here to support students every step of the way. After Orientation, students are highly encouraged to attend Rowdy Rally and Welcome Week events, where they can connect with peers, explore campus resources, and begin building their Roadrunner community. These programs are designed to help students feel confident, supported, and prepared for a successful start to the semester.
You must complete the pre-orientation modules before you register for your New Student Advising and Registration session and New Student Orientation session. Finishing the modules early will help you feel prepared, understand important next steps, and make the registration process smoother. We recommend completing them as soon as possible.
Orientation registration opens at different times depending on your start term:
Spring semester: Opens prior to November.
Fall semester: Opens prior to March. Once registration is open, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to sign up.
