We’re excited you’re joining the Online Roadrunner community! The orientation steps are designed to help you prepare for your first semester at MSU Denver, connect with peers, meet your academic advisor, and learn about campus resources. This page will guide you through each step of the process so you know what to expect and how to get started.

To get started, you’ll complete Pre-Orientation Modules. These modules help you learn information about MSU Denver and information before meeting with an advisor or attending orientation.
What to do:
Sign in to the Orientation system using your MSU Denver credentials.
Complete all Pre-Orientation Modules at your own pace.
Once finished, sign up for an New Student Advising and Registration session.
After your advising session is scheduled, register for your New Student Orientation session.
Connecting with an advisor is the first step to ensuring you’re on the right path with your academics. First Year, first-time to college students are required to meet with an advisor before registering for courses. Transfer students are highly encouraged to meet with your academic advisor prior to registering for your first semester’s courses at MSU Denver. You can do this by :

You will meet with an advisor to review your academic plan.
You’ll register for your classes during this session.
Before you attend, make sure you have:
Submitted all official transcripts (including college, AP/IB, and concurrent/dual enrollment, if applicable).
Completed the Math Placement (if required).
Completed the English Writing Placement Survey.
Online Orientation is a self-paced series of modules that include short videos and knowledge checks designed to help you prepare for your first term. Students need to complete Online Orientation before classes begin to avoid an orientation hold being placed on their account.
Starting college is a big transition, and MSU Denver is here to support students every step of the way. After completing Online Orientation, students are encouraged to explore virtual resources, connect with academic and support services.
