Explore Interdisciplinary Studies to Complete an Individualized Degree Online

The Individualized Degree Program (IDP) at MSU Denver offers students the opportunity to explore interdisciplinary studies and propose a major or minor specifically designed to meet their educational goals if those goals cannot be met by an existing major or minor in the MSU Denver catalog. Students work with an IDP advisor to evaluate their completed courses, examine possible paths to graduation, discuss their interests, and ultimately design their own degrees.

Here are a few reasons to earn your bachelor’s through an Online Individualized Degree:

  • Combine previous and/or transfer credits with future coursework for an efficient path to graduation.
  • Create your own major or minor by combining online courses from departments across the University and relevant transfer credits for a major or minor that reflects your interests.
  • Collaborate with a faculty advisor and the Center for Individualized Learning to meet your specific educational goals not met by other majors/minors at the university.

The Individualized Degree Program (IDP) is an academically robust, interdisciplinary studies degree program. Students earn either a B.A. or B.S., depending on their coursework. Students with interdisciplinary degrees are poised to further their careers or enter graduate programs.

Other Online Program Options Include a General Studies Degree or Multidisciplinary Studies

For students who have taken a diverse range of courses across many fields of study and are seeking an efficient path to graduation, online General Studies and Multidisciplinary Studies Degree options are available. Our goal is to help you create a meaningful online degree by combining courses you’ve already taken and ones that you would like to take.
