2025-2026 Colorado Water Fellows Application is Now Open

Apply for the Colorado Water Fellows Program

The Colorado Water Fellows at the OWOW Center is a branch of the Colorado Water Center‘s Colorado Water Fellows Program.  In the 2024-2025 academic year, the Colorado Water Fellows program was held at Metropolitan State University of Denver, University of Denver, Colorado State University, University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado Mesa University, and Fort Lewis College.

This academic-year-long program is designed to prepare the next generation of water leaders from historically excluded and marginalized communities for careers in the water field. The Colorado Water Fellows Program provides career opportunities, including attendance at water conferences, field trips, and monthly meetings that delve into critical topics such as water law, water equity and justice, water careers, Tribal perspectives, and one water approaches that include graywater, stormwater, and recycled water. The emphasis on a holistic, interdisciplinary understanding of water-related issues prepares the Colorado Water Fellows to navigate the complexities of the field.

Expectations and Commitment:

  • Fellows must attend once a month meetings/activities
  • Fellows must attend 3 water conferences
