About the Student Honors Council
The Student Honors Council (SHC) of MSU Denver seeks to support the MSU Denver Honors Program mission to offer a transformative intellectual challenge within the context of a supportive community. The SHC encourages Honors students to pursue interdisciplinary studies, experiential learning opportunities, and in-depth research and creative projects. The SHC shall seek to provide Honors students with the opportunity to speak and be heard by the Honors Program leadership, university administration, faculty, and the community as a whole. The SHC shall listen to students, respond effectively to their needs, provide social events to foster a sense of community, promote the visibility of the Honors Program, and supplement its academic mission.

Hello everyone, my name is Rebecca, and I am a senior at MSU Denver this year. I am majoring in Political Science and minoring in Legal Studies. After I graduate, I hope to go to law school and become a criminal prosecutor. Outside of school, I am a caregiver and intern for the Colorado State Capitol! Additionally, I like to go on walks, play my three different instruments, and take photos of people, weddings, and scenery. I am very excited to be your president this year, and I'm looking forward to an amazing year!
Freebird Beckett

Freebird Beckett is the Vice President of Honors at Metropolitan State University of Denver and is grateful for the opportunity to serve the honors community. As an Integrative Health student, entrepreneur, and creative, he is passionate about supporting others, fostering collaboration, and creating an inclusive environment where students can learn, grow, and succeed together. He is in his Junior year and is proud to be a Road Runner.

Hello! My name is Angela Herrera-Hoskins, and I am pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with a concentration in ceramics and printmaking. I am the secretary for SHC this year and am happy to continue to contribute to planning and coordination of events for the Honors community.

Hello, My name is Ezekeyiel James Nemescio Sailas but you can call me Zeke! I am currently in my 4th year at MSU Denver where I am working on my Bachelor of Applied Science with a concentration in Air Traffic Control. I have been a part of the honors program since my first year at metro and have enjoyed all the benefits of being a member of the Nerd Herd! Recently I have taken on the position of Treasurer in the Student Honors Council.
