About the Student Honors Council
The Student Honors Council (SHC) of MSU Denver seeks to support the MSU Denver Honors Program mission to offer a transformative intellectual challenge within the context of a supportive community. The SHC encourages Honors students to pursue interdisciplinary studies, experiential learning opportunities, and in-depth research and creative projects. The SHC shall seek to provide Honors students with the opportunity to speak and be heard by the Honors Program leadership, university administration, faculty, and the community as a whole. The SHC shall listen to students, respond effectively to their needs, provide social events to foster a sense of community, promote the visibility of the Honors Program, and supplement its academic mission.

Hi everyone! My name is Sofía Castillo, I am double majoring in Hospitality Management and Economics. I'll be your president for SHC this year. Outside of school I like to do a lot of baking and cooking!
Lauren Bourguignon

Hi! I am Lauren and I am a senior majoring in English with a minor in Legal Studies. I am your vice president and love finding opportunities for students to come together in meaningful conservations and connections. Outside of school I intern for one of Colorado's state Representatives and am passionate about the work we do as it prioritizes the wellbeing of our community. I am also a huge film nerd and can regularly be found at the movie theater.

Hi friends! My name is Ari, and I am a senior this year, majoring in English Secondary Education. I am a second-generation Roadrunner, and I grew up running around campus while my mom worked and finished her degree. That being said, should you need help with anything campus related, I'm your gal! Outside of school, I love to read, spend time with my two cats, travel, listen to all kinds of music, and visit obscure museums (my fav was the Cryptozoology museum in Maine). I'm so excited to be a part of SHC this year and serve as your secretary! See you at the Honors House! :)

My name is Anica Amaro but I go by Kiki and I am the Student Honors Treasurer on SHC. My favorite place on campus is either the little hangout area in the art building or the Honors House. I am currently in the process of switching my major from Fine Arts to World Languages. Outside of school, I like to draw and make comics, read, study new languages, cook and bake, go rollerskating, or play video games with friends.

Hello, my name is Skylar. Most people just gravitate to calling me Sky. It's easier for people to remember. My major is Bachelor's of Arts. I'm a senior. I'll be your Comodín for SHC. I love to help others. I'm excited to be a part of SHC! I mostly focus on digital drawing on Procreate between pattern making and fashion Illustration. I love to read and hang out with my dog. I love to draw and sew. I could do it for hours.
Angela Herrera-Hoskins

Angela Herrera-Hoskins is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in ceramics at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she is an active member of the Honors Program. She also serves on the Student Honors Council, contributing to planning and coordination of events for the Honors community.
