Copywriting Internship Summer 2024 Lionsgate and Starz Summary of Position: STARZ is seeking a Copywriting Intern. The Copywriting Intern will come up with concepts and write engaging copy to help promote/market the STARZ brand, co-branded affiliate tactics, and STARZ Original Series such as Power Book II: Ghost, Outlander, The Serpent Queen and more. Summary of Position

STARZ is seeking a Copywriting Intern. The Copywriting Intern will come up with concepts and write engaging copy to help promote/market the STARZ brand, co-branded affiliate tactics, and STARZ Original Series such as Power Book II: Ghost, Outlander, The Serpent Queen and more.

These assignments will include but are not limited to: social posts, social campaigns, banner ads, email campaigns, broadcast scripts (both TV and radio), taglines, UX/UI messaging, press kits, print ads, internal initiatives, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Solid understanding of marketing copywriting
  • Has a good grasp of popular social media trends and platforms
  • Familiar with current trends in the entertainment industry
  • Passionate about TV series and movies
  • Creates and produces innovative advertising and marketing promotion ideas
  • Provides alternate copy approaches for consideration, as needed
  • Ability to write in different “voices” for different entertainment genres such as drama, comedy, action, suspense, etc.
  • Responsible for the consistent delivery of clear, concise, credible copy that is on-target with the creative strategy and reflects the spirit of an agreed-upon concept and creative brief
  • Amends and/or revises concepts according to feedback
  • Make weekly reports with topline summaries of their learnings from each of their interviews of the individual departments detailing on how they understand the groups role in marketing towards final project

Qualifications

  • Pursuing degree in English, Marketing or Business, or an equivalent field. A focus on creative advertising is a plus
  • Experience writing and editing
  • Must have writing samples; a copywriting portfolio is preferred
  • Must have the ability to convey the company’s product and positioning through simple, effective phrases with a style that is clear, fresh, and concise and make clear and succinct oral and written presentations to all levels of the organization and to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other social channels

Program Dates: Tuesday, June 11th – Friday, August 16th, 2024 (10 Weeks)

The Lionsgate and Starz Internship Program is designed to identify, recruit, and develop a diverse group of students that will gain meaningful educational experiences, professional growth, and career opportunities.

All interns are required to attend orientation on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024.

Details

  • Interns must not work more than 36 hours per week
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Interns must be current rising juniors through recent grads (within 6 months of internship start date)
  • Graduate students are eligible to apply
  • Interns must be available to work for the entire length of the program
  • All internships are paid
  • Most internship positions will require working 4 days in office
