Data & Analytics at MSU Denver

Announcement: September and October are among the busiest months for the Data & Analytics teams. During this time, mandatory reporting requirements, including Census reporting, must take priority. Our team is also operating with limited capacity due to ongoing Workday Student project commitments.

Please expect new requests submitted during this time to be completed in a minimum of five (5) weeks from the date of submission. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to submit requests as early as possible so our team can plan accordingly. Thank you for helping us plan ahead and best support your data needs!

Data & Analytics, housed in the University Strategy and External Affairs, supports effective decision-making through innovation and actionable information that leads to positive growth for MSU Denver. The Data & Analytics branch of University Strategy and External Affairs is composed of three distinct, interconnected units: Business Intelligence, Institutional Research, and the Enterprise Data Warehouse.

What We Do

Business Intelligence

Business Intelligence is the university’s analytics and data science team. They use a variety of techniques to communicate critical data insights, in-depth studies, and analyses to support understanding and decision-making for all members of the university community. Business Intelligence

Institutional Research

Institutional Research provides in-depth statistical data to state and federal agencies, and to internal and external constituents. It serves as an institutional information resource for all units of the university, specializing in conducting research on national norms and statistics relevant to the college. For more information, visit the website below.

Institutional Research

EDW

The Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) is the secured, centralized datastore for MSU Denver. It integrates data from sources across the university to support faculty and staff’s reporting and analytical needs. Reporting from the EDW allows for easy accessibility and sharing of data as well as consistent reporting across the university. For more information, visit the website below.
