Data Guild

Data Guild is a collaborative community for anyone at MSU Denver who works with, uses, or is interested in data. Whether data is a major part of your role or something you encounter occasionally, Data Guild provides a space to connect with colleagues, build skills, share knowledge, and learn from others across the University. Anyone in the MSU Denver community is welcome to join Data Guild meetings.

Data Guild meets Mondays from 1:00–1:55 p.m. Meetings typically begin with about 20 minutes for Data Guild members to connect, share what they are working on, and hear what others are doing across the University’s data community. Beginning around 1:20 p.m., the focus shifts based on the week of the month:

• First Monday – Skill Development Session: Learn data-related skills through sessions led by Data Guild members and other campus partners. Topics may include data visualization, reporting tools, data practices, techniques, and other skills that support working with data.
• Second Monday – Data Guild Check-In: A community-focused meeting for members to connect, share updates, exchange ideas, discuss data-related topics, and learn from one another.
• Third Monday – Drop-In Support: MSU Denver faculty and staff are invited to join from approximately 1:20–1:55 p.m. for office-hours-style support with University-related data questions or challenges. Stop by to troubleshoot an issue, get coaching, learn a Tableau technique or Excel tip, or talk through another data-related question with members of Data Guild.  Join a Data Guild Drop-In Support session
  • Please note: Drop-In Support is for faculty and staff seeking assistance with MSU Denver University-related data needs. It is not intended for student coursework or homework assistance, or for support with faculty research that is unrelated to University data needs.
    
• Fourth Monday – Data Guild Check-In: Another opportunity for members to connect, share what they are working on, and continue building community around data at MSU Denver.

Data Guild typically does not meet on a fifth Monday when one occurs.
