Here you’ll find quick access to crisis appointment information, referral guidelines, and details about our outreach programming. Whether you’re helping a student get connected with therapy or seeking a presenter on mental health for your classroom or department, we’re here to support you and our students. If a student feels like they need immediate assistance due to a mental health crisis, the Counseling Center is available for walk-in crisis appointments during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Students can call ahead at 303-615-9988, or walk up to our office on the 6th floor of the Tivoli Student Union, suite 651.

Crisis appointments focus on helping the client cope with immediate stressors and determining helpful next steps. Clients will be asked to complete a few forms so that we may help them as efficiently and as effectively as possible.
If a student needs crisis assistance after 4:45 p.m., or on weekends and holidays, please call our 24/7 Mental Health and Victims’ Assistance Crisis line at 303-615-9911.

You’ve identified a student who is struggling with their mental health and think they would benefit from a referral to the counseling center. Here are a few easy steps to follow for our referral form. Please note that the secure electronic drop box for the referral form is not monitored regularly throughout the day. If the student is in crisis and needs immediate mental health support, please walk with them directly to the counseling center. If this is after hours, please call the Auraria 24/7 Hotline (303-615-9911) with the student.

If the student consents to the referral and is NOT in a immediate crisis, complete our fillable PDF referral form using the link below and submit it to our secure drop box. The link to the drop box is included at the end of the form.
