Your academic journey is full of opportunities, and knowing how to use your resources effectively is key. At MSU Denver, you’re supported by a team of professional academic advisors, faculty advisors, and other staff across programs, all here to help you navigate college successfully.

Advisors are here for you:

  • Helping you declare a major, minor, and/or concentration
  • Making sure your transfer credits are evaluated
  • Clarifying and guiding you through academic holds
  • Referrals to academic and scholarship resources
  • Helping you structure your class schedule
  • Career Exploration

Many students work with more than one advisor during their time at MSU Denver. Typically, undergraduate students start with a professional academic advisor and later connect with faculty advisors as they advance in their studies. Regardless of who you see or where you are in your academic journey, checking in once per semester can make a big difference.

Getting Started with Advising

Pro-Tip: Advising During Busy Times of the Year

Don’t see available appointments in Navigate360 Student? Send an email to your advisor or your program’s advising office.

Some times of the year can be busier than others, like when registration opens or as graduation approaches, so advisors may take a little longer to respond. Rest assured, they work as quickly as possible to get back to students.
