The Research Symposium is designed to showcase the breadth and depth of research activities happening on our campus. This annual event connects MSU Denver faculty researchers with each other and with aspiring undergraduate and graduate researchers.
The format of the symposium has been intentionally designed to spark curiosity, connect researchers, and showcase the breadth of scholarship at MSU Denver within a concise, half-day event.
Unlike a disciplinary academic conference, this event brings together a general audience of faculty, staff, students, and community members.
The purposefully short, 7-minute lightning talks encourage presenters to distill their work to its most essential and engaging elements, focusing on the big ideas and real-world relevance.
The cross-disciplinary format is designed to highlight a wide range of research in a short amount of time and keep the audience energized and curious. In each session, attendees are exposed to a balance of disciplines, topics, and forms of research.
The event is structured to encourage conversation over comprehensiveness, presenting a breadth of research in rapid succession, with further conversation occurring during the breaks and lunch.
Successful applications will include a strong research project that includes recent data and/or findings that have not been previously presented at this event.
Priority is given to new and innovative projects.
One of the goals of the symposium is to showcase the diversity of research across campus.
