MSU Denver’s Micro-Credentials, represented by digital badges, offer a dynamic way to recognize and showcase meaningful achievement. Available to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners, these badges highlight valuable skills, experiences, and demonstrated competencies gained through academic work, campus involvement, and special initiatives. Issued through a digital platform, badges can be easily shared as part of a professional online presence or e-portfolio, including LinkedIn, helping recipients stand out and tell the story of what they can do.
Department of World Languages Micro-Credentials
The Department of World Languages is proud to offer two exciting micro–credentials designed to help students and community members build meaningful, career-relevant language skills: the American Sign Language Foundations Micro-Credential and the Professional Spanish Language Competency Micro-Credential.

This micro–credential helps students and community members build foundational ASL skills, deepen their understanding of Deaf culture, and develop communication abilities grounded in nationally recognized language proficiency standards.
Turn your Spanish skills into a professional advantage with the Professional Spanish Language Competency Badge. This micro–credential helps students, especially heritage speakers, build the confidence and communication skills needed to use Spanish in professional settings such as healthcare, education, and government services.
