International Design Workshop in Germany - Spring 2024

IMG_8205

Students registered in IND 3850: International Design Workshop, recently spent their spring break in Dortmund, Germany as part of an international design education partnership with Fachhochschule Dortmund’s University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Students traveled with Professor David Klein for a one-week collaborative project with Architecture and Design students at FH Dortmund, Germany. Inspired by the light installation “Material Memories” (2023) by Hungarian artist Gyula Várnai, students were divided into six teams of four to create wire sculptures that conveyed messages through shadow and composition.

The trip included a visit to the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, the Center for International Light Art in Unna, and other fun evening excursions.
