MSU Denver

Health Scholars Programs are unique wraparound support services to ensure our students transition from the classroom into meaningful careers in Colorado’s health care industry.

Students become culturally responsive practitioners through professional and personal development opportunities of study, research, volunteering and shadowing.

Stipends and scholarships are also available to help students focus on their education more than their bills.

Our Health Career Navigators provide individualized support across three distinct  programs:

  • Bank of America Scholars Program for self-identifying Latinx students
  • DACA/Undocumented Student Health Careers Opportunity Program
  • Health Career Opportunities Program

Peer Health Exchange

The Peer Health Exchange (PHE) involves MSU Denver students teaching a skills-based health curriculum in under-resourced high schools throughout Denver.

Both teacher and students become equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to make healthy decisions and to address healthcare disparities within our local communities.

MSU Denver students hired into the program are trained and facilitate a curriculum focused on:

  • Substance Use
  • Showing support
  • Mental Health
  • Accessing Resources
  • Personal Identity
