The Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (SCAMS) information can be found here: https://roadrunnerlink.msudenver.edu/organization/student-chapter-american-meteorological-society
Students in the club often obtain school funding to attend the annual meeting of the American Meteorological Society where they present research, attend the student conference, meet alumni, and network with other meteorologists. The club has also organized a lot of successful events over the years including a pizza party to watch “Before the Flood” with 100 people, a Twister watching party complete with throwable cows, an eclipse party on the Tivoli lawn where we handed out 1000 eclipse glasses, as well as several successful alumni gatherings and weather discussions. Contact Dr. Keah Schuenemann if you’d like to join!
