Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week

The purpose of HSIs Week is to recognize 569 HSIs throughout the nation for their work and critical role in educating and empowering Hispanics/Latina/o/x.

This year HSI Week is September 15 – 19, 2025, MSU Denver will participate by hosting several events and sharing stories about our impact on our students and community in the Early Bird and on social media.

El Grito 5K Run

The 30th annual El Grito 5K, a family-friendly run/walk on the Auraria Campus in celebration of Mexican Independence Day. Hosted by El Grito Runners Inc. in partnership with MSU Denver’s Strategic Programs Department, the event includes a 5K race (3.1 miles), a kids fun run, and a festive post-race celebration. Proceeds support scholarships for students participating in cross-country and track. Let’s run for culture, community, and a great cause!
