Introducing a new grant-seeking training academy!

What is the Hanover Grant Academy?

This grant academy provides guidance in the discovery of new opportunities, supports institutional funding initiatives, and improves faculty development. This all serves in the competitive submission for institutional funding

What can you expect when participating in the Hanover Grant Academy?

  • Proposal reviews, revisions, prospecting, advising, and consultations across the cohort are supplemented by group training sessions targeted to opportunities for skill development identified within each cohort and tailored to the funders and funding opportunities cohort members are pursuing.
  • Webinar-based trainings for the academy begin with a welcome webinar explaining the aims of the academy and the Hanover – MSU Denver partnership, clear introductions to Hanover resources and proposal work processes, with an emphasis on collaboration with MSU Denver’s goals for the academy, internal processes, and supports. Cohort members also spend time connecting with each other toward the aim of building a strong culture of grant-seeking at MSU Denver and growing faculty collaborations.
  • Each academy then has four content webinars, selected in consultation with MSU Denver’s Executive Director for HSI and Inclusion, Manuel Del Real. The webinars for the MSU Denver Academy are:
    • Workshop 1: Concept Development: Good vs Fundable Proposals
    • Workshop 2: Prospecting: Identifying the Funding Landscape for Your Grant Project
    • Workshop 3: Essentials of Competitive Proposal Writing
    • Workshop 4: Developing a Budget and Budget Narrative
  • Webinars are supplemented with group check-ins.
  • Office hours are offered between webinars in the spring.
