The Department of Political Science offers opportunities to pursue your passions by gaining substantive knowledge, applied skills and the theoretical understanding and ethical bases for navigating the political world.

Political Science examines government, public policy and the political behavior of individuals and groups of all communities throughout the world. While studying global and domestic politics, we’ll also help you develop into a confident public speaker and critical thinker. You can also expand your educational opportunities in the department-sponsored Model U.N., travel abroad programs, internship support and preparation for law school and graduate school for our majors and minors. The department hosts several noteworthy lecturers who regularly visit campus and has offered faculty and student exchange programs in Scotland, Hungary, Morocco and Turkey. 

MSU Denver Political Science graduates represent us well in the public and private sectors. Our alumni have also continued their education at prestigious post-graduate and law schools throughout the country.
