Welcome to the MSU Denver Center for Multicultural Excellence and Inclusion (CMEI) website! Whether you are already on campus or are considering enrolling at MSU Denver, we would like to invite you to stop by and visit the CMEI space. Our diverse CMEI staff is here to support your unique needs and to help you explore your cultural identity as you navigate your college journey! We can help connect you with the many resources MSU Denver has to offer including: mentorship programs, student organizations, and leadership opportunities focused on students of color. It is also a great place to meet new friends and find out more about our cultural programing, community building activities, and campus partnerships.

Art Show: The Abstract Cultural Landscape in the Era of Climate Change

Date: Tuesday, October 15th.

Opening Reception Time: 11AM - 1PM

Location: CMEI Lounge (JSSB 237)

The Center for Multicultural Excellence and Inclusion is excited to partner with Carlos Fresquez, Art Faculty to showcase MSU Denver student artwork focusing on the themes of cultural landscapes and climate justice.  These pieces are inspired by this year’s 1 Book/1 Project/ 2 Transform titled We Rise: The Earth Guardians Guide to Building a Movement that Restores the Planet by, local Boulder, Colorado Climate Activist and Hip-Hop Artist Xiuhtezcatl Martinez. 

Work will be on view until February 15th.

Sister Circles Kick Off Event

Location: CMEI Lounge on the 2nd floor in SSB, room 237

"Sister circles was created for women and femmes of color to gather as a collective group, and to explore the diverse experiences and needs of women attending Metropolitan State University of Denver. This group focuses on providing a secure space for women and femmes of color to explore their identity/ies, discuss challenges and strengths, and implement support through community building. The mission and values of Sister Circles include understanding, learning, growth, strength, healing, and empowerment; along with engaging in inclusivity."
